Birthday visitor

We woke to pouring rain and a wild wind.....and it was actually cold!!! Had to go around and close some windows....not very June like!!

We have been out to lunch with our quizzing neighbours, as we have agreed to go on holiday together for a week in September. We took our ipads and eventually settled on Majorca....a resort that neither of us has been to before. We had a lovely meal, I had sea bass, with watercress, fennel and beetroot salad and crushed new potatoes, it was delish!

Afterwards we headed home as we were due a visitor, our middle granddaughter Emily. Her Mum is away this week so she is staying with her Dad. He has had to go away on business unexpectedly so she is staying over with us tonight.

When they arrived, I got a lovely surprise!! Emily greeted me in the kitchen with a lovely big bouquet of flowers saying "happy birthday grandma" :-) Ive been spoiled by all the family with some lovely cards and gifts. Ive had a new laptop, solely for my photography, with Lightroom 6 ......who's a lucky girl ;-)

Ive been watching tutorials on YouTube to try and get to grips with it......may take a while, but will get there ;-)

Emily wolfed her spaghetti bolognese down, we've just had a sandwich. Then she played cards with grandad for a while, which is whats going on in this shot.....shes not quite so keen
on having her photo taken these days, so I have to be a little more stealth ;-)

Now we are watching a movie, Rabbit School, which is quite sweet :-) We have agreed she can stay up a litttle later than ususal as she doesnt need to go to breakfast club in the morning.

Still, it will mean a much earlier morning for us than usual ;-))
