D day

I had the honour of playing the Last Post at the funeral of a D day veteran , aged 93, on the 73rd anniversary of D day. I had never met the man, and until I got to the service I didn't know his name, but I did smile when the vicar said we give thanks for the life of Reg.

Meanwhile at home, mum's remaining two sister's and their husbands came for lunch. we had hoped when we suggested it that we could sit outside in the garden! Not a chance as it has been torrential rain and gusty winds all day.

shouldn't need the fire lit this time of year but it was a welcome sight this evening.
