A Drop of Sunshine

It rained on and off for most of the day, but we did manage a short walk in the Newhall Valley while the sun peeped out from behind the clouds for a few moments. There were many rewarding sights which made the effort worthwhile, from a family of ducks with several ducklings struggling to keep a foothold in the fast moving stream to D leaning over the rails to observe the tumbling mini waterfall under the bridge. There were several beautiful flowers growing in the lush hedgerows, but this gorgeous yellow Poppy, similar to the ones growing here in my sister's garden was the one that most represents this day of rain and sun.
We ended the day with a delicious Indian meal at one of our favorite restaurants- The Lodge in Shenstone.
