You wouldn't know this was the same day
Today's weather gave the new guttering a good test. Filled the butt too and worked well. Hampered the fitter who came to clad out the studio as he had to work inside with all his equipment rather than having the saw and compressor outside. Took him a long time too, he didn't finish until 8.00pm. This was partly owing to another cock-up by the suppliers. We'd ordered insulation for the roof and floor. Turns out that the floor insulation was not at the factory and the roof insulation was not included on his job sheet and he hadn't got the stuff they use.
Long telephone conversations ensued, a reluctant compromise reached and a detailed email sent to the company making them very clear about our annoyance over another error on their part to add to the many already made. We want to use the building year round so proper insulation is important and offering us our money back for the missing insulation is not the answer we wanted, nor was an alternative insulation which may (or may not) make the roofing felt too hot.
The rain eventually cleared, but it gave me the opportunity to catch up on a myriad of things that needed to be done. We set out to the library and visit Tesco's only to get caught in an almighty shower. We sheltered from the worst in the lee of a tall fence else we would have looked like drowned rats. Then the sun came out again and in Mote Park, I was able to capture this shot of the boats and geese basked in the early evening sunshine.
