High Density

This is the somewhat cramped view from M & K's deck at the back of their rented property. It has been interesting watching the construction from the back door (where my "office" currently is located) - residential structural design being my bread and butter - and I am surprised by some of the differences I see happening here, the huge steel beams and floor structures that seem very much over-designed, the lack of safety procedures in the working environment, and the close proximity of the buildings to one another. There appears to be no fire protection whatsoever adjacent to the boundary, nor on the internal wall between units. Interesting.
