Old and Gnarled
I took this photo as I was walking along the lake front to meet my photography friends for morning tea. That's Ironside Hill behind the gnarled willow tree.
I have been out to a wonderful luncheon of a walking group friend, who is 80 years old today. It was great meeting up with so many walkers, and to enjoy time reminiscing about the various walks we did up to 20 years ago.
I am now off to watch little 'h' swim, then take her home to Luggate for a family dinner. Yay, the sun is out, makes so much difference to the day.
Blip No. 1927
Year 1927. When I first started out with the walking group 22 years ago, there were 7 walkers who were born in 1927. Of the 7 2 are still going strong.
The population in NZ was 1,450,400, an increase of 20,700 over the past year.
A very popular royal tour by the then Duke and Duchess of York. They were to become George VI and Queen Elizabeth.
Daylight saving first commenced.
The first yearling sale was held at Trentham racecourse.
