forest animal horror movie

Went for a walk in the woods with my brother today and we came across this creepy scene. He assured me that it was not in fact a human skull, not that I was worried of that or anything...

As a self proclaimed anti-hiker (despite coming from a family of outdoorsmen) it's interesting to me that I'll go for a "walk in the woods" but I'm not that into going for a hike. I guess you just have to trick me with the terminology.
