Abstract Thursday - Hope

The peony plant symbolises hope to me.  The plant dies right back to the ground in winter until it is hard to see where it is.  As spring turns to summer it grows again in all it's beauty, which is often only fleeting, but it renews my faith that no matter how dark and depressing the world seems at times the Peony flower holds out hope that the dark times will fade and beauty will bloom again.
I have blurred the edges of the shot and put a spotlight on the bud which is about to open.  Thank you Ingeborg for hosting this wonderful challenge.
