Garden visitor

With the end of the building work and Gill deciding where she wants things to go in the garden, the birds are returning to the feeders and it is becoming more clear where might be a good place to put perches to allow for a relatively non-distracting background. 

This chaffinch is becoming a regular and perches on a butterfly plant support while he checks out the feeder.  An experiment for me with the 400mm lens on the full frame camera.  I don't recall ever using this lens with the ISO settling on 100* ... and the aperture is one stop down from fully open too! It just shows how bright the sunlight was this afternoon

*I leave the ISO on auto most of the time and set shutter priority for wildlife.
