Polling day
First job this morning, voting. I took the boys with me and they were sternly informed that they were far too young, by the slightly officious men manning the polling station. There was one of the candidates outside the polling station, I had an inkling I might think about voting for his party, but couldn't bring myself to having seen him in the flesh. So a last minute change of heart.
We are back to our normal term time routine, library today, I always bump into people I know there, which is always really nice. We had some last minute shopping to do for a cake to bake this afternoon, which is needed for the husbands birthday tomorrow.
The husband was supposed to be out all day - or at least I thought he would be at University all day. This would mean I could bake a cake and have his present delivered without him knowing. But of course, this morning, he announced with glee that he could work from home, oh hurrah, that totally ruined my plans, darling. I tried to get away with the present being delivered and hiding it among the boxes that have already been packed, but I was foiled. As for the cake, well it's impossible to bake a cake when someone can see straight into the kitchen from their desk. Hey ho, at least he knows he's getting a present and cake I guess!
Tomorrow we're going to FUF's in the morning, then a family walk in the afternoon. With luck, the weather will be good and we can put the tent up and camp out in the garden.
