Old fireplace

We are working our way towards decorating the boys bedroom.  First job: seal up the old fire place properly.  We took down the existing board and removed a large wad of newspaper from 1974 and 3 dead birds complete with what appeared to be at least 3 nests worth of twigs and dried grass!
So... at least now the dead bodies are gone!  Next to order some cement and brick it up properly, before we move on to dry walling the alcoves either side to provide insulation, and ripping down the ceiling. Then it'll be on to the nicer bit of plastering and decorating.  Phew!
