Student living

This is fancy new student accommodation being built in Glasgow. Each student has en-suite; a kitchenette; all bills paid; a gym; shared spaces and super-fast wifi (I'm saying nothing!)

In the 1980s my friend "Captain Dobbie" lived in student accommodation in Paisley. He had one room in a Victorian tenement. Cooking was a single ring in the corner and the place was freezing, being heated by burning old computer listing paper in a wee fireplace.

What a difference!
