Sunlight on petunias

Hope per the dictionary is "desire with expectation of fulfillment" or "confidence in a future event".   I have hopes and dreams but they are mine and controlled by me.  

My hope for sunlight on petunias has come true today.   I hope we have a little rain soon...oops..I have no control over the rain but I can still hope!
