Funeral

Today I attended a funeral of a well known Aboriginal Elder. These are the colours adopted by the Australian Aboriginal people and represent the red earth, black people and yellow sun.

The funeral was well represented by community members to share with the family in their loss. It had a traditional smoking ceremony, traditional Elders in ceremonial dress (? Possum or kangaroo fur cloaks) and music and dancers in very little despite the very cold weather.
