Ancient Woodland
I always love the mossy banks and lichen covered trees in this area of woodland in Dartmoor close to Venford Reservoir. We were out with the birding group and Tree Pipits, Willow Warblers, Cuckoos and Pied Flycatchers were seen. Although for me the most exciting bird was the Dipper which was spotted on the way home when we stopped at the side of the River Dart. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me then.
Two extra photos one a view looking towards Sharp Tor and the other of some delightful Dartmoor ponies. I really liked the mane on the female (reminds me of a hair advert) and her young which look like they have straight crops.
Off now as its an Anniversary Meal tonight.
