My first ever look inside Manchester's Portico Library. I was there for a lecture by Tilleke Schwartz, a Dutch textile artist, who produces graffiti -like embroideries.

I can't help wondering what constituted Impolite Literature back in the day.

The white marks you can see on the books are, apparently, bandages.
