Above the fireplace
Back from ecumenical ventures in London, and back to motherhood duty, helping at the school book fair. This is the carved wooden wall above the fireplace (no doubt there us a technical name for this) in the Council Room at George Heriot's School in Edinburgh.
The school was built in 1628, but incursions by Cromwell et al prevented it opening for pupils until later.
