Canadian Parliament

After queuing for tickets to the Canadian Parliament first thing this morning, we took a tour of our hotel. This may sound like a slightly odd thing to do, but the building has so much history and is so significant to Ottawa in many ways that it was extremely interesting. Afterwards we headed to the Byward Market to try the famous "Beavertails": a kind of pastry delicacy, unique to the area. They were delicious! We were then able to take our tour of the Canadian Parliament, which was also very interesting and I loved the neo-gothic architecture. After a late lunch, we took a bus tour around the city. It is such a beautiful place and there is so much to do that you would need at least a week to see everything. Our two days doesn't do it justice, but at least it provides an excuse to return...!!
