Drooping Sheoak
The drooping sheoak (Allocasuarina verticillata) is a South Australian native, and the weather must be perfect for it this year, because they are all in flower and looking amazing. The flowers are very tiny, and I didn't have my own camera so I might try again when I have the Canon with me.
The sheoaks are a very important resource for native birds, such as the yellow tailed black cockatoo.
Botanically they are very interesting. I don't know if you can see the ridges in the stems, but they are modified leaves.
