The restoration of the Kirkmichael church buildings approaching completion. They've done a really good job. The place has been near collapsing for years, and I'd wondered if it would likely be demolished on safety grounds.
Main reason for cycling all the way over here, was to take a single frame with the huge old Bronica. Spent the usual while setting up the shot - tripod deployed; framing; focusing; light meter check and set exposure; cable release fitted; mirror raised, and release the shutter... nothing happens. Try again. Nothing. Batteries check as okay, and were new anyway. Try the shutter release button instead of the cable. Nothing.
Back at home, and check a few other things, without any luck. Also no luck finding a likely cause on the Internet, and despite normally being an all around Mr Fixit, am very wary of delving into the likes of one of these! Visions of springs and bearings flying about in all directions. Somewhat miffed. Not just at the twenty miles cycled with the camera and tripod (and also the Nikon F100 for the above photo), or the fact the camera's not working. Have been doing a wee project on and off over several months, it specifically uses just this camera and the 80mm lens, so it's failure has kind of put the kibosh on that for the foreseeable future.
