Techno hits the Barbican

The Barbican Hall is accustomed to the range and decorum of live orchestras but tonight's show was different. Yes, the Britten Sinfonia was these, but it was playing techno tunes arranged for an orchestra and accompanied by Jeff Mills on decks and drum machine. And the crowd were on their feet, NOISY and appreciative. Clubbing crossed with concert-going!
