The Road Not Taken

'Two roads diverged in a yellow wood...'
Robert Frost, The Road Not Taken

In this case, the wood was the one through which I often take a shortcut on my way into town. This morning, instead of taking my usual path downhill, I took the one which branches off to the right and which I've never explored before.

Along the way I came across a man walking his dog and stopped to exchange a few words.

Me: "Isn't it a beautiful morning?"
Him: "Absolutely brilliant! It could stay just like this for me all the year round. Spot on!"

We went on our separate ways.

'Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less travelled by,
And that has made all the difference.'
