Dancing, stories and mud paintings...Open Studios

Stories, mud painting and dancing…. yes it was all happening in my studio today for Open Studios.

Oh yes, Alexa, my digital assistant was quite an ice-breaker with visitors challenging her to give them information.

I have been so busy with my visitors that there was little time to take photos of them too.

What to photograph? in the end I got this one of artist Rhona Fairgrieve with her mud painting of me.

Retired surveyor Gordon Crook,( see extra photo) tried his hand at mud painting too.

Meanwhile my 91-year-old friend and next-door neighbour, John Gary, popped in. Knowing him to be a keen jazz fan I asked Alexa, to play some jazz and to my amazement John started dancing!
See him on instagram.

As for stories I heard an amazing one, which I shall tell tomorrow.

Re Open Studios:  I am not selling anything but instead aim to give people an inter-active experience which they can share.

Is it art? certainly not in the traditional sense. I see it as some form of social sculpture.
