Fat Gull
Great to arrive in Lisbon and meet up again with M & D before pasteis (egg custard filo tarts that are to die for) and then an exploration of the famous Jeronimos Monastery in Belem. Looking up from the courtyard of the monastery I couldn't resist this view of a fat gull perched on the top of one of the many ornate pillars that adorns this interesting 15th century building. After that, trip down to Mourao where M & D are living in a spacious apartment and for a meal at Sem Fim - great food and a wine that has been declared by at least one international competition to be the best wine in the world in 2017. It was good, but the much cheaper house wine was also very good. Now winding down for sleep and prepare for cooking Osso Bucco for the Catholic Priest and friends tomorrow night.
