Muddin'
It was a little too quiet, both outside and in... so I went in search of my children. Kaylee was reading under a shade tree, as expected. Colby though, I could hear, but could not see.
I watched the field for signs of the four wheeler.... it took a few minutes, but he finally emerged from the wettest area we own. As soon as he came near, I could smell the mud - a mixture of rotten vegetation and wet earth. The smile of my child's face was precious. He drove toward me slowly and simply said "Hi, Mom" I think he thought he was in trouble.... so I let him stew in those thoughts for a moment.
When I couldn't hold the smile in any longer, he chuckled and said "What?" - we both knew why we were laughing though. I asked him to stay out of the muck, as the wheeler isn't designed for that type of riding.
It's moments like this that I appreciate the differences between my kiddos. I am so blessed to have one of each.
