Marsh Foxtail
Up early to take a few botanical record shots using the Lightpad, before I set off for a day of plant recording in the western part of the vice-county. Once again it was remarkably windy, which made trudging the lanes and footpaths quite tiring. Nevertheless, I made some useful records including a good population of Common Spotted-orchids in a completely new location.
The windy weather made outdoor photography difficult, so I've gone with one of this morning's batch, a macro of flowering Marsh Foxtail, which shows the delicately pink anthers . I'm always amazed at just how beautiful grasses are when they're observed at high magnification.
