The Carden alvar

One of my favourite days of the year! Counting birds for science at the Cardenas alvar.

We were driven out to the farthest part of the ranch and left alone with the amazing endangered birds, the wild fliers and cows.

We started by spraying massive amounts of bug spray. I was amused by my friends who needed to stand in the empty through - like cats who need to jump in an empty box!
