The Meavy Oak

Experts have estimated that the tree, which stands outside the church in the West Devon village of Meavy, could be 950 years old. Although the trunk is now segmented, there is still plenty of foliage which the extra shows. Just beyond the tree is The Royal Oak pub ( dates from 1500) which serves a good lunch, and was the reason for my visit to meet former colleagues.
