Wide Asleep/Fast Awake

Poor old BB.  He has really slid downhill drastically in the last couple of weeks.  He walks so slowly and painfully, and takes quite a long time to sink down to a sitting or lying position.  Stairs and steps have become major obstacles for him, and we have to lift him in and out of the car.  His back end collapses from time to time, leaving him both confused and dismayed. The line between inside and outside when it comes to relieving himself is now completely blurred, and he is totally deaf and almost blind. 

In this photograph, he was sound asleep, but his eyes were open.

We are taking him to the vet tomorrow afternoon to talk about whether it's time to let him go.  I'm not looking forward to it.
