Horns

With thanks to Paola for the tip-off, we went for a lovely walk around the Devil's Punchbowl tonight and encountered the Highland cattle. We saw five of them in the undergrowth, four black and one brown, and they were completely disinterested in us, far too busy eating the vegetation as if their lives depended on it (which I suppose they do). It was a decent 5km route for an evening and, in fact, my second walk of the day; the first being with Martie and our various dogs around Radford Park.  I used to walk the dogs there before we discovered Iron Hill and then Chapel Common and it would take 20-30 minutes to do the loop; today it took and hour an a half - and that was with Basil's pushchair! To be fair we did let the dogs have a few paddles in the stream. It was lovely to go back there again and we even saw a kingfisher (twice)!
