View From a Window

A wonderful sight to greet us looking out from our bedroom window in Mourão.  The problem was choosing which shot best depicted the silhouette and beauty of the setting sun.  Today was a full day with unsuccessful veal shank shopping, settling for Picanha for the meal I was to cook for 8 this evening in the apartment of the local priest Luís who rents the apartment to M & D.  After cooking up my 'Osso Mancante' (Missing bone) which I then renamed to Picanha Soffrito we went downstairs to be treated to extensive King Prawn and Chorizo starters with bread and then my main course followed by a brandy infused fig concoction with ice cream - all this washed down with 14 liters of Sangria.  If that wasn't enough, D decided it would be great to go for a walk down to the lake at 12:30 am - we probably settled down for sleep about 3 am!  But we had nearly accomplished our 10,000 steps walking before we went to bed!

The sunset was a moment of peace and reflection - somehow depicted in the unexpected highlight of the shafts of light and shadow created at this moment.
