I'll just 'sit a spell' with a chipmunk.

This morning has brought more horrific gun violence to our country. A call for unity from leadership and 45 is naturally and thankfully being embraced by both sides of the aisle in Congress.  A beautiful morning ending in an all out assault on a baseball diamond, absolutely shocking. It  unfolded at an early morning Republican baseball practice for an annual charity game to benefit disadvantaged youth between the Congressional Republicans and Democrats tomorrow night. It could have been far worse I'm afraid had not the Congressional Leader, Steve Scalise, Majority Whip,  been there with his required security detail. The others playing travel without that extra protection. The officers saved lives and this may end up with more protection for all members of Congress. The charity game will go on tomorrow night, there's nothing like baseball for some old fashioned fun, cheering and healing.
 
The sad news of the ghastly fire in London, now this, a very sad day. Raspberry is napping and not interested in sitting in my lap to provide some solace, so I pulled up a chair next to my chipmunk's chair for a little levity on a low day.

This day came in cooler and drier, a beautiful June day.

All hands saddened. No one needs an assault weapon, ever.
