This is the coach that's travelling from Norwich back to it’s home in the Shetland Islands having spent many years in England. More information here.

We headed for Carnforth this morning to try and catch a glimpse of the Flying Scotsman (see extra) which was travelling from there back to base in York today having done a steam tour yesterday from Chester. Speaking to one of the volunteers at the station there were three possible ways for the train to leave the station. Those on the other platform may have got the best close up ……. the engine reversed this side of the signal before heading off to the right but there was the chance it would be on the other side of the fence or not seen at all. 

Then a lovely walk along the canal watching swans, ducks, canal boats and canoes. 

On the way home we came up behind an old coach on the Kendal bypass. We soon realised that it was the one we had seen on the tv news a few days ago. First instinct was ‘follow that bus’ and I got a few phone shots at a roundabout. Then we overtook on the short dual carriageway section and hoped to get far enough ahead that I could get out and take photos. A tourist in a go slow BMW held us up but I managed to leap out at the traffic lights in Ambleside and run around to take up position at the Bridge House. It was only a few minutes before the coach passed. 

We’ve enjoyed a Tesco meal deal (with the included bottle of wine) so I’m posting two photos and will add a link to the rest on Flickr in a day or two.
