Tom and I went to watch Forest play Birmingham (who to me, as a childhood Villa fan, still constitute 'the enemy') today at the City Ground. A mixed bag, as it always seems to be with Forest, who failed to get the goal they should have had in the first half due to the usual dodgy finishing and then let in two in about three minutes early in the second. Luckily, rather than folding completely, as they would have last season, the newly-strengthened team fought back well for a draw, even if they couldn't quite manage to pull a winner out of the bag at the end. Still unbeaten so far this season, though, and it all bodes well for the next few months if they can continue to hold it together...

Still with the 'A's', I listened a couple of times today to 'Vegetarian Restaurant' by Aberfeldy, a lovely song that appeared on the fabulous Rough Trade 'Indiepop' compilation (...I was going to say 'recently', but apparently it came out in 2004, jeez!) It's a classic bit of old-school indie with that slight folk twist that seems to come so easily to bands of a Scottish persuasion. I also picked up the album it featured on, 'Young Forever', which is pretty good, if not all quite as sublime as this particular song (plus the cover has a vaguely innappropriate picture of lions copulating on it, for some reason...!) Beyond that, I'm afraid I'm typically clueless...
