All ready for the Awards Ceremony

Tonight I had the pleasure of attending the annual awards ceremony at Mintlaw Academy in my capacity as local councillor. I braved a torrential downpour to walk across from home as we live very close to the school and arrived a trifle soggy as our drive, the path across and the playground were under a couple of inches of water! The weather didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the staff, students and supporters who attended and made it a memorable evening. I felt so proud of these local young people, the ones who provided the music and all those who received awards. It was good to catch up too with some former colleagues over refreshments. All in all a fine way to spend an evening!
