Musk lorikeet
As we approach the winter solstice, the afternoons are getting darker and darker. The George walks are getting earlier and earlier and it's harder and harder to get decent images.
But there is an upside - but you knew that didn't you!
This is the time of year we are visited by a flock of musk lorikeets as they feast on goodness knows what in the oak tree. They are not after the acorns, so I think it's some sort of sap sucking insect, such as lerps, or a scale.
They are not easy to photograph, and despite their bright colours they blend into the foliage like you wouldn't believe.
So all of that preamble is my excuse for a less than good shot of a musk lorikeet.
