Spotted

A shot from the wild fringes of our garden - the bit we ironically call the Dingly Dell. 

I bought a tiny specimen of this Common Spotted Orchid at the RBGE plant sale years ago. Somehow it survives. 

The boggy conditions are great for it, but not so much the competition from the mixture of 'proper' plants, like the candelabra primulas, and the 'plants in the wrong place', like the creeping buttercups. 

It's never going to be Kew or Harlow Carr - but I kind of like it the way it is.
