National Savings Bank
This was once the second biggest employer in Glasgow, behind the Glasgow City Council.
When I joined, in 1973, there were about 7,400 employees.
It was like a small town, with a hairdresser
a dentist, permanent nurses, some small shops, a supermarket and a branch of the Bank of Scotland.
It is now being demolished to make way for new housing.
Progress????
