A new oven mitt!
Ever burned your fingers or hands when removing food from the oven? I have used "hot pads" for years, but this new oven mitt is WAY better! Hey! - it's rated at 450F (and flame proof as well), and I even tried touching the hot oven racks at 350F and could not feel any pain!
Tandy and I were at the restaurant supply store, so I decided to pick one up and give it a try. A real bargain at $3.75! I should have bought two. Oh well... next trip downtown.
The restaurant supply store is pretty cool. They sell stuff in way larger quantities than the average person needs, but yet are open to the public!
We don't need 50# bags of rice, flour, or sugar, but our dog (Scruffy) loves the fresh 2# package of sliced roast beef and honey ham that we would otherwise pay twice as much for at the grocery store.
They also stock "people treats" such as LARGE boxes of candy bars and such. A FORTY pound box of bananas if your household goes through them that fast!
Wander on down the street to Costco, and you may find the SAME melon as you found at Cash and Cary to be $2 - $3 more, although we have seen it go both ways in the past. :)
Oh, and almost forgot, they INVITE you to walk into the freezer room! Quite a treat to go from 70- 80 F degrees to - 20 degrees below ZERO (minus folks) on a hot day!
