Pretty little cottage

Beyond the church, and probably about three quarters of a mile away, there's a pretty little cottage with a thatched roof. It was up for sale for ages but the signs vanished and it continued to be cared for.

A little further each day, and my walk took me down to this lovely landmark, and I noticed it had a blue plaque of the Burntwood Heritage Trail.

Apparently, Fulfen Cottage was the site of the old Dame School, which was in existence by as early as 1775.

It's amazing what you miss when you're not clattering along on elbow crutches !
