St Moritz

We went on a tour to St Moritz. Leaving Lenno quite early we headed for Tirano where we boarded the Bernino Express. The train journey up to St Moritz is spectacular to say the least.

St Moritz itself is nothing special, a modern town with very expensive shops, not particularly attractive. The Lake below the town is pretty and the the mountains spectacular. The photo was taken in the town centre and is about as picturesque as anywhere in the town.

Leaving St Moritz by road the descent was again very spectacular, a road with a series of at least 12 hairpin bends and a shear drop to the side of the road.

We returned to Italy near Chiavenna, and having left Lenno at about 7:30 in the morning we got back at about 7 in the evening. Quite a long day but a circular trip I would highly recommend.
