Low tide:
your love lies sleeping
by your side;
the dog
is at your feet,
the sun
is on your toes;
it’s one of those
‘let’s take it easy’
days, for you’re both
a little worn, over-
tired, though all that’s
required
to ease
and restore you
after difficult times
is the sea’s
distant melody
and a few simple rhymes.
