The Peony In The Apple Tree.....

.....with apologies to the Bones TV programme.
Really hot again today, so I went out into the garden first thing this morning, before it got too hot.  I intended to shoot a pot of Alstroemeria, which have just opened, a fabulous orange ( blip for another day, now).  As I  passed the Apple tree I saw how the sun was shining through the leaves and showing up the Peony flowers which were growing through it. That quality of light was too good to miss.  The peony has done so well this year, it is planted well to the right of the tree, but has spread behind it and some of the flowers are coming right to the front.
