Lady Bagpiper

Backblip

Up early to pack the car, tidy up the cottage and leave by 10 am.  Weather unrelenting until we got near Inverness, where the contrast was just ridiculous!  Blue skies and warm sunshine, which we hadn't seen all week.

We met up with Houseonahill6 and her husband for a delightful lunch at The Waterside Hotel on the banks of the River Ness and discovered there was a wedding taking place.  This is the lady bagpiper who played during the ceremony and the happy couple are in the Extras.

Great to meet Karen's husband for the first time and we had a long, chatty lunch sitting outside under an awning.  Blippers are the nicest people:-)

The good weather didn't last long and by the time we stopped at the Dalwhinnie Distillery on the way home for a Father's Day gift for TJ of his favourite whisky, the rain had caught us up again.  However, it dried up further down the road and we were able to unload the car at home in the dry.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in the North West Highlands and hope to do it all again some day, preferably with better weather!

Hope to catch up with you all as soon as possible.
