Let's Dance!
A very nice relaxed Sunday in Barcelona and one of those days when we're reminded how lucky we are to live here. We walked to Sants Station to check up on some info for our current Brazilian guests, then wandered into the old part of Sants. On this square, where we sat for a while, we actually thought we were witnessing a flash mob as couples kept getting up to dance...and boy could they dance! We must have been entertained for a good hour and a half by all ages, teachers and students, who all had their own individual style. What I loved was to see them improvise and see the fun they were so clearly having. It turned out it's a dance school that meets here every 3rd Sunday of the month for some extra practice. We then walked on round the corner to a place we'd never eaten in before that specializes in fish. You choose the fresh fish at the fish counter before you sit down, it's cooked on the spot and you collect it when your number's called. It's very basic and a simple recipe that works. The only thing you get apart from the fish is bread. No salad, no patatas bravas, nothing! The rest of the day was spent dozing at home and in the shade as it's still far too hot for June here.
