The Great North run.

A half marathon run between Newcastle and South Shields every September.
There were 55,000 runners, most of whom raise money for charity. Last year 28 million was raised. Runners this year are from 40 countries.
We got a good place to watch, at the end of the Tyne Bridge. Bands were playing, whistles were blowing, and children were high fiving the runners as they came past. The atmosphere was wonderful, and then the Red Arrows flew past, but much too quickly for me to blip them.
A great morning, even if it was raining.
