Four new classes started today. Some old faces, but a lot of new kids. A lot of energy which means my Saturdays for the next four months are definitely not going to be boring.

With new kids, come new names to learn and new names to give. One thing about teaching Chinese children is that each one gets an English name. Usually they get normal names like Tom, Sally, or Joe. But you do get the occasional kid who has an English name like Terminator or one little boy named Jill (I swear I play no part in giving these names, although I have fun giving names sometimes). My favorite name I gave today was to a little boy in my kindergarten class.

He's full of energy and can hardly sit still so I named him Fish because really he has the attention span of a goldfish.

Well by the end of the day after five hours of teaching, like this wall, I was definitely ready to go home and fall down into bed.
