Hoverfly and the alliums

Today's the day ......................... to be warm

I think we've possibly been in the only part of the UK that hasn't been swelteringly hot for the past few days.

It was very evident on a walk round the garden when we got back yesterday evening, that there had been no rain since we'd left - and temperatures had soared.  It was still very hot today - but at least we're here now to keep things watered.  There were insects everywhere enjoying the sunshine - lots of bees - and this little hoverfly doing whatever they do on an allium.
