Woods at Avondale

Went for a walk in Avondale (Co Wicklow) today with Colette and John. We nearly didn't go because it was raining on and off all morning, but we decided to be brave and go for it. Well we did get wet, but we also had a great walk in a beautiful setting. We plan to go back next month when the trees will have their autumn clothes on. I love autumn - the season of 'mists and mellow fruitfulness' - and today was certainly a misty one!
After walking for about two hours we stopped off at the tea room in Avondale House for tea/coffee and cake - well we felt we had earned it.
