Weed beside cold water

Not been around recently 'cos:

I have had a:
Head pounding
Eye watering
Ear aching
Sinus bursting
Nose dripping
Throat rasping
Cold

I was, of course, a model patient. There is no point in being ill if you don't crave sympathy, understanding and tenderness from your loved one every second of the day.

My wife tries her best to hide her willingness to comfort and tend me, but she doesn't fool me for a second.

I closed my eyes and every few minutes:

my pillows were plumped up,
I was offered cold drinks of any flavour that I wished,
my brow was gently caressed with a soft, cool, moist cloth,
coo's and ahhh's of compassion were offered and
flowers appeared by my bedside.




Then I woke up.
